NAME: C.J. Peeves
FAMILY: Wife Jasmine “Jazz” Peeves; daughter Sara Peeves; son Freddy Peeves.
OCCUPATION: Editor, closet novelist
LIKES: Reading things on paper; music from the 1980s on vinyl; reruns of TV shows produced by Stephen J. Cannell; Broadway musicals (whether he’ll admit it or not); the fact that his favorite childhood comic books are finally being made into movies; his inner struggle over Star Wars vs. Star Trek; and Bruce Springsteen. (Especially Bruce Springsteen.)
DISLIKES: Home improvement projects; talk radio; pop music released after 1988; pharmaceutical commercials; avoiding fatty foods; the old naked guys in the gym locker room; large groups of people; small groups of people; OK, people in general (outside of his family).
PARENTING CHALLENGES: Being not quite as athletic as his baseball-star son; temptation to be a stage mother to his burgeoning thespian daughter; the fact that his wife seems to have a much better handle on this whole parenting thing (although he suspects she might just be better at faking it).
PARENTING JOYS: He’d pick one of Freddy’s ballgames or Sara’s school plays over a pro game or Broadway show any day of the week.
FAVORITE FAMILY ACTIVITY: Anything that finishes with a big dinner.
LEAST FAVORITE FAMILY ACTIVITY: Being his children’s personal Uber driver.
TV FATHER & HUSBAND HE THINKS HE’S LIKE: Howard Cunningham
TV FATHER & HUSBAND HE’S ACTUALLY LIKE: Phil Dunphy
